Is your dog 7 years or older or your cat 10 years or older?
Once a pet gets older it becomes very important that any potential illnesses are picked up early so they can be dealt with before they become a problem. There are many things we can do to slow down potential health problems, deal with the routine changes related to age, and deliver a happier, healthier pet.
Our Seniors Health Program uses thorough examinations plus screening tools, identified below, to enable early detection of serious health problems such as kidney disease, heart disease, eye disease, diabetes and arthritis – problems which are just as common in older pets as they are in older humans.
Is your pet showing signs of old age such as:
- Taking longer to get up after naps
- A sudden change in appetite
- A reluctance to walk or exercise
- A noticeable weight change
- Excessive drinking
- Abnormal coat changes
- Bad breath
Yes? Then book in for a Senior Health Check.
A Senior Health Check includes:
- Complete health assessment
- Full blood profile
- Urinalysis
- Blood pressure test
Do I need to do anything prior to the appointment?
Yes please! As one of our tests uses your pets’ urine, we ask dog owners to bring in a sample (if possible) caught that day, in a clean container. You can collect a container from us beforehand if required. Cat owners are requested to keep their cat indoors and remove their litter tray for at least 2 hours prior to the appointment, so they have a full bladder for us to collect a sample.
When can I book?
We are offering these appointments Monday-Friday
